Ms. Andrea Love Art and Gifted Educator
How would you feel if someone said, “ You Just Don’t Fit in” to you? Would would you do or say to this person?
We all sat in our circle today and read what we wrote. The responses of students were heart felt. Several said they would be very sad, cry, walk away from the person, not want to be friends with that person and one student said, “it depends on my location, if at home I would do something different than what I would do at school.” I read a letter to them about how one person felt and their advice of how they can’t please everyone else. To remember that YOU are the most important person. “YOU are better than you think, Try to be someone who can depend on themselves. Sometimes you don’t really need your friends to be with you all the time. But the most important thing is to fit in with yourself, to make yourself belong with yourself.”
Students had their earned, “GAME DAY” today from collecting all their “GENIUSES” class letters from working so hard on our challenging projects of coding and Senator Letter. I am very proud of my students and how they are succeeding at projects that are hard to grasp at time. It may seem to others that we are just playing around, but really we are working through some pretty amazing concepts that will help us cope later in life. Thank you for supporting our classroom mission thus far.
After our class game day, students resumed their research writing project. Everyone has a different subject which makes it a unique challenge to help everyone find their information, but I love that each student is writing about something that is interesting to them and not a subject that I chose for them to research. The only requirement was that it needed to focus on History of the subject and how they will make the research flow within their writing. I will have a guideline for the students to follow to help them with several concepts.
By the way, I am almost done with my online training with MUK12 that I have been working on lately. I will be teaching students around the world, (part-time from home) how to write a paper using the United States format. Many of the students are ELL students who are working towards a high school degree through MU. It’s a pretty amazing program!
Thank you for allowing me to work with your children.
