K-1 TAG Today
Good afternoon! We had a fun day today in TAG. Ms. Love traced our bodies laying on the ground and we either drew cartoons, and/or symbols in or around our drawing. The drawing was a reflection of self that would be a nice addition to the students bedroom. We enjoyed time outside and had a goodbye discussion at the end of class. Please know that I am available throughout the summer if you would like to share photos and/or just talk. The students may call me through your phone if they need to chat with me. Have a wonderful summer and look for a large email from me soon that will review the year and give a heads up for next year. Ms. Love

Today students finished their presentations and we went to the 4th grade History Museum walk in the gym. Students viewed many important people form Missouri. While waiting for our last presenters, other students played chess and checkers quietly. We went outside to enjoy the day and of course had our pizza party during lunch. Our last day together as 3rd graders! I look forward to seeing everyone next school year and remember, that I am just a phone call away or email me throughout the summer.
Thank you for having your child spend time in the TAG classroom. Be looking for the last big email soon with future information. Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator Today in TAG we were full of energy and excitement! The remainder of the students presented their research to the class. Students asked questions at the end of their presentations. Students did a wonderful job and I am very proud of their hard work! I will be uploading students presentations to my website soon if you would like to see their creativity.
We had several discussions today before class and at the end of class. I wished everyone well and explained that I would miss them. If your student would like to email or text me at 574.982.9744 (on their parents phone), about anything exciting they would love to share during the summer or need to talk about something that is overwhelming them, I would love to hear from them! We also talked about how middle school will be different and how friends may change. I told them a story about my oldest child and how life became very hard for her in middle school and how she gave up on her education in high school to fit in the crowd. If you would like to hear about her story, please let me know. I am willing to share the hard times we had as a family and as a parent to keep our gifted child safe. Lastly, I appreciate those that took the survey. Your thoughts and constructive criticism is on my mind. I have a large email that I will be posting soon with what the future holds. Thank you again and have a wonderful summer! Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator 4th Grade:
All 4th graders were able to present their research today to the class. Students were able to ask the presenters many questions. They had a great time with their presentations. We had a few that were nervous but we got past it and I am very proud of them. Students were able to love on the baby chicks one last time as well. I let students know that they could email me or text me through their parents phone throughout the summer. I would love to see them creating or doing something fun, feel free to send pictures! I will be sending a large email with a lot of information at the end of the week. 2nd Grade: Students loved on the baby chicks today first thing as they were very excited. We talked about what we enjoyed in TAG and what was important to them in TAG. Their responses were priceless and I feel very proud to be their teachers. We also discussed how to be respectful while in the classroom as several are having a hard time realizing that they are held accountable for their actions much like their classrooms. In third grade they will have more responsibilities. We were able to go to the Makers Space today and experiment with the bubbles, play outside and then go back in to the library to play with the Legos and computers. I let students know that they could email me or text me through their parents phone throughout the summer. I would love to see them creating or doing something fun, feel free to send pictures! I will be sending a large email with a lot of information at the end of the week. Thank you for letting your student be a part of TAG! Ms. Love Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator Today we had a lot of fun and bonding time. We got to meet the baby chicks today and the students were able to hold and pet the chicks. After playing with the chicks we went to the Makers Space to work with the different kits and technology. Students were able to express their most challenging project during our Socratic meeting. The wigwam project seemed to be the most challenging! They even were able to sit individually with Ms Love to talk about something important that they wanted to share with me. Lastly, we went outside to play and run out our energy before heading back to class. Next week is our last day in TAG for the school year. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I will share pictures on Class Dojo as well. 3rd grade:
Today we finished up our project and prepared to present to the class. Half of the class gave their presentations and they were great! The other half will present next week. We voted on food for the pizza party next week. We will be having 2 large pizzas, bread sticks, garlic knots, cinnamon sticks, a cookie and two 2 liters of soda. If you were going to brings drinks, you do not have to contribute now. We do need paper plates and cups for 10 students. After the last presentations next week, we will celebrate our year by discussing it together and students will be allowed to freely play games with each other. The chicks have received a lot of love. They are growing so fast! Only two hatched and one chick came over from the Sped Class. The chicks have been fun to watch and learn about. Please let me know if you would like to have a conference with me via phone, email or in person. My open times are Tuesday - Thursday 11:15-1:15. Next year, we will be focusing on coding through two different curriculum along with a Junior Achievement business model, primarily. We will work with Legos Robots probably in-between the coding programs. Thank you for your communication, Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator Boonville School District "What makes a child gifted and talented may not always be good grades in school, but a differentway of looking at the world and learning." Students will begin a coding program next year after school gets started and we are acclimated to David Barton. Thank you, Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator Boonville School District Students Worked on their essay and presentations for next week. Students will need to finalize their work outside of class time to be prepared for their presentation. If they don’t do a slide show, they may make cue cards to help them discuss the highlights of their essay research.
The students were able to play with the chicks and viewed a few of eggs that didn’t hatch. One was trying to hatch and didn’t make it. The other looked as though they stopped developing over ten days ago. Several students were very interested as they stated that veterinary school was in their future. Others were not interested in seeing a chick in that state. A good learning experience on both sides of the fence. Andrea Love Talented & Gifted Educator Boonville School District Hello Parents!
Today in TAG we started on our presentations! Around 10 students gave a presentation about the favorite topic. All were very interesting and we could tell that many put in a lot of effort into their research for their essay along with creative boards or slide shows. We have around 10 students who will need to present next week. Next week will be our last day in the DB TAG classroom. After presentations we will do fun things in the classroom and express our thoughts about the future in a respectful manner. Thank you to those who have fill out the survey. I have some parents who received an email about discussing their comments, suggestions and concerns as they gave me their students names. If you would like to have a conference with me during Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 11:15-1:30, via email, phone call or in person, please email me a time. Lastly, if your student will not be involved next year for TAG and you have not let me know as of yet, please let me know. LSE is working on the elective schedule and we would like to know how many students we will need to accommodate. Please keep in mind that TAG will be an elective and students will receive a grade for their effort and work created during class time. I have several items on the addenda such as coding, Junior Achievement, possible Lego's competition, Get a Life simulation, Stock Market Game and Everfi curriculum.
