April 25th, 2018 T.A.G NEWS
It has been a busy week! Time is slipping by very quickly! Please read your students class information or all of the news if you like.
K - 2nd grade worked on developing a round Native American structure, a Wigwam. It is a challenge to make a round structure out of sticks and fight gravity! They had to work through some of the issues before I would give them some ideas through many questions. Students wrote about their plan and made a list of what they felt would be a good roundhouse out of natural items. They were able to go outside and work on their project or have a time to release their energy.
3rd grade worked on their Google Classroom independent research or Geocity designs. Those that are finished with their essay or city are working on designing a 3D object with Tinkercad. Students will present their city and research to the class in a couple of weeks. We flipped our chicken eggs today in class. Students were curious about why I had an X and O on the eggs along with why it needed to have light bulbs and a thermometer in the class house. Great questions that we discussed.
4th Grade did not have TAG last week because of MAP testing. A few students were able to come to the classroom when they finished testing. We worked on organizing the EV3 Robot kits. This week 4th grade students began working on their independent research project on Google Classroom.
5th grade today worked diligently on their research on Google classroom. I have been reading their outlines and essays online. After I read their work, I send it back with suggestions and comments to help them revised their work. We had a pizza party last week. A lot of pizza was consumed! Thank you to Cadence and her mom for donating the soda! There was no TAG this week for DB Students as they were MAP testing, but we had our friends from SSPP. Students worked diligently on the research.
Grades 3-5: Please have your student look at their individual project on Google Classroom to see if their essay is ready to submit for review. They can start on their Google Slide show or Movie maker or design a board presentation.
For those that came out for 6th grade parent night and visited with me, thank you!
TAG is an elective in middle school. Please let me know via email if your student will not be continuing TAG. Students may take a break for required course work during a semester and remain in TAG.
Please contact me instead of the secretaries if you have any questions or concerns as they have a hard time locating me throughout the day.
Thank you for being involved with TAG!
