Ms. Andrea Love Art and Gifted Educator
Welcome Back to my 6th graders! Our class is much smaller this semester as several students have decided to venture into another class this semester. We will hopefully see their smiling faces next fall for our Future City competition.
Today was a recap of our Christmas break with a little discussion time to reconnect. We then ventured into one of our new projects, Snap Circuits. We worked on five lessons together. Students learned how to hook the circuits to make a fan run, turn a light on and play music.
Our future plans are to work on a project to express why we should have the Talented and Gifted program in our schools. These projects will be presented on GAM Day that will be held at the State Capital on February 26th. This is our next field trip. Students can create a painting/drawing/story/comic/code game etc., a poem, or anything else to represent why Gifted is important to them. Their projects will be hung up in the Capital prior to our visit to help our politicians understand the importance of Gifted education.
We will also be working on a business model with Junior Achievement and Everfi. Both of the curriculums will help us become better citizens and financial planners in the future.
Have a wonderful rest of the week and please contact me with any questions that you may have.
Thank you for sharing your student in the TAG classroom,
