5th graders enjoyed their self-explore time outside this morning. I took a few photos alongside the Interstate Photographer today while outside. Check out the 5th grade TAG Dojo for the photos. We had a very good discussion today about helping someone who is in need. Each student wrote about their person or animal that they would help and then we had a deep discussion about how helping others makes the world a great place.
Students logged into their Google Classroom and Everfi Digital Citizenship module. Began to learn about the virtual world we live in. Towards the end of class, around 10am, students reflected on the past three modules in Google Classroom using their professional writing skills. The prompts in Google Classroom were the following: Choosing a computer: Why is it important to compare features of a computer before making a purchase? What are the different features of a computer that people should consider before making their selection? What are some of the ways computers change and evolve over time? What do you predict computers will be like 20 years from now? Wireless communication: Is owning a cell phone a big responsibility? How can people be more responsible with using or paying for their phones? What are the dangers of using a cell pone while driving? What can people do-either as passengers or divers-to prevent texting while driving? We most discussed these valuable questions after writing them on Google Classroom as well. I believe our 5th grade class will be better prepared for the ongoing changes in the digital world because of how they have reflected upon their learning with their classmates. If you have any questions, please let me know via email, Dojo or cell phone. Have a wonderful day! Ms. Love
