Welcome Back! The snow has put us behind just a tad, but we will make it through and accomplish our goals. Below you will find the schedule from today. Students wrote about what frustrates them in life and we shared it in our circle. Students had a lot to share with one another to help others along with adding in their stories about other frustrations. I asked students if they felt heard in my class, and it warms my heart that they feel comfortable to talk about subjects such as writing and math difficulties and/or when they become very angry. I want students to feel that the TAG classroom is a safe place for them and that they may come to me at any time to just talk.
After our long discussion from the writing prompt, we had our exploratory time and began writing our letter to Senator Rowden. I forgot that they missed class last Tuesday and had to back up to the our writing prompt about the importance of having a TAG classroom. This is a House Bill that is being voted on currently. Students were shown a professional letter example, the House Bills (see below) and using their experiences within the letter. We will be working on the letter and our History research next week.
