Ms. Andrea Love Art and Gifted Educator
TAG today was a little bit different. We started our day with our writing prompt and discussion of :
We had a small introduction of how to program a robot to do what the programmer designs using sequencing of steps. Students were asked to solve a small problem with a "Flurb" and then design steps for their partner to do per their program. For example: follow what direction the arrow points. As in forward, forward, left, forward, right, forward, etc... Every program/computer or design must have directions from the programmer. We must layout a sequence for the computer to understand (the order of commands that the computer will execute.) If the commands are not in a step by step format, the computer will not be able to execute. Computers must have the human to give commands. Thus, the beginning of coding.
We left our classroom to participate in the school wide assembly. The students were able to hear music and real life reflections from the musicians about how everyone is worthy and has a purpose in life. The concert was very active and the reflections were heartfelt. We came back to the classroom and reflected about the assembly.
Students have "G.I.F.T.E.... " on the board. They now just need the "D" to have their compliment party. Students are working on the following to receive their compliment party: coming into the classroom calmly and working on their writing, being respectful to their classmates while they are talking in the group, working on their activities in a responsible and respectful manner and always being safe while in the TAG classroom.
Next week we will be finishing up our Everfi simulations and going into our coding activity.
