Ms. Andrea Love Art and Gifted Educator
Second Graders today came to the TAG classroom at HCP for the first time in several weeks! We have missed class because of the field trip, no school because of our holiday and Professional day for teachers. It seemed like forever since I have seen their wonderful faces! We began our day reflecting about our fun time at the Morenet Mill. How much fun we had and what their favorite learning experience with robots was. We wrote about it in our composition books and discussed how coding was used with the robots in our Socratic circle. Students were expressive about their learning and were still excited about their future learning with coding.
After reflecting about our field trip, students were given their self-exploratory time before moving on to our Google classroom and Digital Learning module. Students are working through the many steps of using Google Classroom to reflect on their learning along with directing them to links I post for them. Today, they learned how to click on a link that directed them to signup through the Everfi Digital Literacy. Students began the Digital Citizenship module of "Understanding Computers" today. They learned that the pre-test is hard at the beginning of the module and that the simulation will help them learn how a computers work. Information such as CPU, RAM, cloud computing, software, and the selection/buying of a computer has a lot more information than expected. At the end of the module students took a post test. They learned that the information is learned by retaking the post test often. Learning through our mistakes is powerful. We will discuss what we learned next week and go over the information again to help connect our learning.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via Dojo, email or text. Don't forget to look at our photos that were posted today just in the 1st grade section.
Have a great day!
