Ms. Andrea Love Art and Gifted Educator
Today in TAG we had many learning moments along with having fun.
First, our writing prompt: What kind act did you do this week at school or at home?
Second, watched a video about "Pete the Cat And his Four Groovy Buttons." We talked about how we can make an unpleasant moment, much like loosing all of our buttons, and turn it into a funny moment to get past the upsetting feelings of loosing items such as our buttons. Pete didn't get upset about loosing all of his buttons because he realized that he still had his BELLY BUTTON!
Third, We used Pete as inspiration to paint a pumpkin face. Ms. Love surprised us with a pumpkin that was donated by Strawberry Hill in Columbia.
Fourth, we had our exploratory time and created a unique leash design out of our rubber lego like connectors.
Fifth, we began designing on Kodable.com. We are learning the steps of programming our Fuzzy to get from one place on the board to another spot on the board. As we get further into the game, we are learning how to use block out spaces to manipulate Fuzzy to go to a specific location.
Sixth, We took a break to learn six new words and retouch on Algorithm. The new words are: Technology, communication, programmer, program, code, and command. We played a game of true or false about all seven of the words to help us connect with the new terms.
We will continue to use the terms above while we learn more about programming in our world and how to make the world a better place.
Please see Class Dojo for photos of classwork today along with videos of how we solved design problems on Kodable.com
Have a wonderful day and I look forward to seeing you on our field trip next Wednesday at 7:15 am.
